The distinctive storefront camera has been a source of controversy. The city ordered it removed citing new building regulations. Many local residents rallied in defense of it, feeling the sign was a piece of history that preserved the original flavor of downtown Elyria. The sign was allowed to remain. Originally a press camera, it was updated with a Kodak Instamatic, and is now a 35mm SLR |
